Intrusive Thoughts cover art

New song “Intrusive Thoughts” released

I’m excited to release a new single from my music project Starbound Renegade. The song is titled “Intrusive Thoughts” and it’s about OCD and overthinking. My gf turned me onto some post punk and goth rock and I was inspired to make a song in that vein. I wrote the lyrics and programmed the vocals into Synth V Studio Basic.

You can find the song on Soundcloud, Spotify, YouTube, and anywhere else you can find music.

I hope you enjoy the track as much as I enjoyed producing it!

Lyrics:

[Intro]
Save myself, from myself

[Verse 1]
Uncertainty
Ambivalence
Polarized voices in my head
False urgency
So significant
Every thought craves my attention
I’m paralyzed by doubts
I ruminate on the questions
I’m not okay right now
What’s real, I don’t know

[Chorus]
These intrusive thoughts
My mind is like a prison I can’t escape and
I can’t tell, if everything is just an illusion, yeah

[Verse 2]
My reality
is in question
How can I trust my perception
Dissociate
Block it out
Turn it off, I don’t know how
I meditate for the hundredth time
Sitting on the edge of my bed now
I’m not okay right now
What’s real? I don’t know
I’m still fighting

[Chorus]
These intrusive thoughts
My mind is like a prison I can’t escape and
I can’t tell, if everything is just an illusion, yeah

[Bridge]
In my head
In my mind
Analyzing all the ways I that could die
I’ll never know, I’m suffering right now

[Ending]
Save myself, from myself
In my head there is like a thousand radio stations
Gotta rise above the pain, and transcend
Be still, embrace the shame, and feel it
