Wake Up: The Morning Routine That Will Change Your Life

After 9 months in the making, I have finished and published my second book entitled Wake Up: The Morning Routine That Will Change Your Life. The book itself is 202 pages but is an easy, quick-read. It’s a story of how I built the wake-up-early habit that I consider one of the most life-changing things I’ve ever done. I want to help you wake up early every day and gain clarity on your purpose.
It all started here actually. With this blog. I started writing about my depression in 2013 and I started waking up early to focus on consistently doing habits like meditation, journaling, and reading.
Then a year later I wrote a post about how my life had changed after one year of waking up early. This post unexpectedly went viral and became my most popular post by far. I had been wondering what to write my second book about and this was a big flashing sign saying GO! So I let this be the kick in the ass that I needed to start writing again.
And here we are, the book is finally out along with a ton of extras that I’ve bundled into different upgrade packages. I am really proud of the book, it meets my standard of quality and is something I think will help a lot of people begin their journey of awakening. It’s a true story and all of it is coming from my own experience.
Honest and refreshing with no hype.
“It really resonated with me (pg. 86). I felt as if he was talking straight to my true authentic self, slowly awakening it with every page.” – Todd Saperstein, Designer & Educator

What’s Inside?
Introduction
Why did I write this book? And what the heck is personal development anyway? It sounds kind of lame, I know. But this will set the stage for the rest of the book.
Chapter 1: Waking Up
In this chapter, I share my personal journey from burnout and disconnection to awakening, diving into what it truly means to "wake up" and how depression stems from suppressing our authentic selves. I also explore how shifting my habits, particularly through waking up early, became my breakthrough.
Chapter 2: How to Build Habits
How small, consistent changes in your habits can transform your life. I cover the challenges of mistakes and excuses, how to shift your habits with ease, and why waking up early can be fun. You’ll discover the three keys to habit change and the impact of keystone habits.
Chapter 3: Creating Your Ideal Morning Routine
I show you how to build a morning routine that brings clarity, peace, and focus to your day. We’ll explore the importance of self-awareness and gratitude, plus how moving your body in the morning energizes you. By the end, you’ll feel empowered to start each day with purpose.
Chapter 4: Overcoming Challenges & Excuses
I tackle the most common excuses and challenges people face when trying to wake up earlier. From not being a morning person to dealing with snooze addiction, I provide practical advice on overcoming resistance, staying motivated, and making your new habit stick—even with kids or burnout.
Chapter 5: Always Be Learning
How to integrate the learning mindset into your daily life. I show you how to develop life-changing reading habits, choose the right podcasts, and even make TV and videos a tool for growth. Plus, I highlight the importance of learning directly through your experiences to truly level up.
Chapter 6: Final Thoughts & Resources
If you get this far, you’ve made it! By now you should have been able to start the waking up early habit and infusing your morning routine with inspiring activities that feed your soul.
