Rare Hands: Palmistry & The Simian Line

My friend took me to a palm reading event on Monday as sort of a birthday present. (Shoutout to my fellow Geminis!)  The palm reader looked at my hands and said I had a “Simian Line”.

She called everyone else over too look at my palms and claimed I was a rare exception to the typical palmistry archetypes. Yes, I am indeed “not of this world!”

That’s not all. I had a simian line on both of my hands. Doubly rare!

What does a Simian Line mean?

It’s where the head and the heart line are merged into a single line (sometimes called a Simian Crease). This usually means it’s hard to separate logic and feelings. It’s often associated with being a mystic, visionary, guru, or leader (best case) and a socially awkward outcast or crazy person at worst. There are also claims that it’s associated with down syndrome and monkeys. If you have a simian line, you’re either a genius or insane if you believe what you read on the internet. As if I needed yet another reason to think I’m a special!

I haven’t been able to find much satisfying information online. I loved Richard Unger’s book Life Prints but it was more about what your fingerprints tell you about your life and not necessarily the lines. Still cool. My palm reader recommended Kay Packard about reading your palms to decode your life purpose. Makes me want to follow my curiosity and explore palmistry further and see what all the other lines of my palms have to tell me. Fascinating!

Thoughts and Feelings on the Same Track

What I do know is that I have a very strong heart and strong mind. They really do feel linked. I cannot tolerate working on something that does not actively engage my heart and my mind. I have to feel like it’s aligned with my truth. And what feels true for me is very particular. I find myself driven more by intuition rather than logic but I tend to over analyze and process my feelings mentally. And you all know I love talking about my feelings and my emotional processes!

I found out one of my close friends has a simian line on one of her hands. And see all sorts of incredible markings on other hands I’ve looked at. It’s amazing how different we are and the stories they tell.

Are We Special Beings?

The way I felt after getting “diagnosed” with a simian line was quite uplifted and inspired. To be honest, I really do think I’m a visionary with a purpose in this life. My ego wants to take ownership of this idea and use it to feel special and important. But what feels more true for me is that I am simply a conduit for a bigger purpose that is beyond little ole me. I know that I’m here to bring more love and healing to the planet. To hold space for the shift in human consciousness. To usher in the new world and be a leader in my own unique way. Really, my purpose is just to be true to myself and follow my heart and not what other people say.

I know everyone has their unique purpose, and that’s what is so fun about self discovery and self actualization. You get to tap into your own specialness and super powers. Don’t buy into the notion that you’re not special or worthy. That’s just a lie to keep you from being your full potential.

I’m curious to know if any of my readers has a simian line or is familiar with palmistry. What do your palms say about you?

  1. I have a simian line on both hands too. I have always been psychic, and as a child I could see the nature spirits in the garden. I could talk to them and hear them talk back to me, all done telepathically. I was once told that people who have a simian line are natural-born leaders, and that almost all Presidents of the United States had one or more simian line. I was also told that a simian line works to better a man’s position in his career, whereas for women, it can work against them as they are seen to be too direct and dominant (when what they really are is a leader who approaches her leadership in the same way men do).
I am very psychic and when I was young I could never tell what were my own emotions and what belonged to the other people around me. I have prophetic dreams and I can often read people’s minds if they are pissed off with me. I hear what they are thinking!

  2. Hey Jeff,

Thanks for this insightful post. I’ve been looking for this post for a while now. I quite recently got into palmistry and I have a simian line on both palms and every thing you’ve written about here resonated so much. Incredibly enough, I’ve always used my intuition and had full alignment between heart and mind during events that could’ve gone wrong fast. I even have very vivid dreams and premonitions that come true from time to time.
I used to have nicknames like Miss Strange, Miss Super intense, guess it makes sense now.

  3. I have 3 horizontal lines and have been researching. why maybe. I feel so different from those around me. This physical gene has been inherited through at least 3 generations. although I am the only one with 3 lines. I also have the gift of healing (only when I have an overwhelming belief to do so) but it is a God given gift. I have been called “witchy” – I hate that because it is another inherit gene that I need to fight.

I feel others’ thoughts and emotions around me. I and those I love, have been blessed by unworldly support and given strength, in the very heart breaking times and dangers in our lives. I need no explanation myself but I would reach out to anyone who can relate?

  4. I have simians on both palms as well. The heart and mind thing was intense when I was younger. I’d like to think it has gotten better with age. I was very idealistic, now I think I’ve turned to a more spiritual path, releasing the idealism and intensity for peace, love and forgiveness for others and self. Somehow your write up makes sense, thank you for sharing. Love to all going through similar experiences.

    • I have this one both hands as well…my father has them and my daughter and her son. I am very intuitive and also have spiritual abilities. I am very in tune with nature. And I have knowledge of things I have never researched or taught.

  5. I have the simian line on both palms 🥰
Happy to see more around here from different countries 🤲🏻 cheers from INDIA

  6. I have simian creases on both hands. I’ve never been diagnosed with Downs Syndrome or any of the other diseases listed. I’m 50 years old and I’ve never really thought about these lines on my palms til I saw a TikTok video. The information I read really brings light to my life and I’m grateful to have some clarity. I’m thankful there’s a community of people and a place to talk to others. Have a great day everyone.

  7. I have them on both hands.. What is interesting is that I actually had down syndrome in a past life.. Was a “witch/healer” in a few past lives and had traumatic deaths including being burned at the stake. I just learned about these lines today and I’m amazed.

  8. Well I have the single palmer line on both the hands and yes the heart vs head thing happens constantly for most decisions. Till now things are working out even tho a bit slower because of my constant confusion but after putting my mind at things i can be extremely good at it.

  9. I also have both hands with the simian line. Apparently I was tested for a down Syndrome when I was born due to it. I have always had clairvoyance and a very strong intuition but I couldn’t say wether or not the lines are linked to those abilities.

  10. Have it (Simian lines) in both hands, not hereditary. Hasn’t slowed me down. All or nothing on emotions. It was hard to separate the emotions and situations when younger compared to most. Overtime, I learned to deal with it and “just relax”. Ultra-focused when I want to be, to the point of tuning everything else out.
